About SimpMusic Lyrics
A robust and scalable RESTful API service for managing song lyrics, translations, and not-found records. Built with Kotlin, Spring Boot, and Appwrite database, featuring advanced duplicate detection and clean architecture patterns.
SimpMusic Lyrics is focusing on YouTube Music, providing data from videoId of the track. The database is populated by the community, SimpMusic app users, and through automated crawling of other web services.
SimpMusic is a FOSS YouTube Music client for Android with many features from Spotify, Musixmatch, SponsorBlock, ReturnYouTubeDislike. Started in 2023, with the goal of providing an all-in-one music app and ad-free, inspired by many other FOSS apps, I decided to build it.
Our journey hasn't been easy. We've faced technical challenges, scaling issues, and the constant pressure to monetize through ads. But we've stayed true to our core values: keeping SimpMusic free, ad-free, and privacy-focused.
Founder/Developer
A mobile developer with experience in Android and iOS development, going to be a full-stack developer. I have intermediate knowledge of Mobile App Development (Android) and want to learn and develop my skills in Android programming, including using the latest technologies and building high-quality and high-performing applications.
